Appetite and Hunger

Let's talk about the difference between appetite and hunger. Appetite is the desire for food. That's exactly what it sounds like. It's your body desiring to eat something. It could be out of boredom or simply a habit while doing something like watching television. Hunger on the other hand, is a chemical reaction to the insulin levels in your blood. Simply put, once the insulin levels reach a certain point, your body says it's time to eat. A series of chemical reactions take place and you begin to feel hungry. Everyone knows extreme hunger by feeling jittery and maybe even a little light headed. This is the result of the chemical reaction in your body due to low insulin levels.

Eating a low calorie diet is a must for losing weight. It's important that you eat fewer calories than you consume when you're overweight. This is how you lose weight over time. Your body will burn the fat instead of calories from food. To lose weight you've always got to eat fewer calories then you use. This will result in your body using calories stored in the form of fat. The result is your pants and other clothes feeling a little baggy. It's something everyone that's experienced weight loss knows all too well.
